White Welding Glass
- Purpose: Primarily a protective barrier against flying debris and heat.
- Thickness: Typically 2-3mm thick, a clear or white-tinted glass.
- Function: Prevents the black filter lens from being contaminated or damaged.
- Visibility: Provides a clear view of the welding area.
Black Welding Glass
- Purpose: Acts as the primary filter, blocking harmful radiation and intense light.
- Function: Shields the welder’s eyes from eye damage, such as “welder’s flash”.
- Level of Protection: The darkness of the black glass (or shade number) determines the level of protection needed for different welding processes.
- Shades: Higher shade levels offer better protection against intense arcs.
